HALEY BENNETT (The Girl on the Train) is in talks to star opposite Chris Evans in film Red Sea Diving Resort.  The film is based on the 1981 rescue of Ethiopian Jews to Israel.

R.J. CYLER (Power Rangers) has joined the ensemble cast of the drug dealer drama White Boy Rick.

JOSEPH GORDON-LEVITT (Snowden) is in talk to star in and direct the musical Wingmen, with Channing Tatum attached to co-star in the story of two pilots who crash-land in Las Vegas.

ROBERT RODRIGUEZ (Sin City: A Dame to Kill For) s in negotiations to direct the planned remake of John Carpenter’s 1981 film Escape From New York.

IFC FILMS has set a May 19, 2017, limited release for Wakefield, starring Bryan Cranston and Jennifer Garner.

LIONSGATE has announced a September 15,2017, release date for American Assassin, starring Michael Keaton, Dylan O’Brien, Sanaa Lathan and Taylor Kitsch.

HILARY SWANK (Logan Lucky) will star with Michael Shannon in the drama What They Had, the story of a woman who returns to her hometown to care for her Alzheimer disease-stricken mother.

ROBERT DOWNEY JR. will star in The Voyage of Doctor Dolittle, a new adaptation of the children’s books by Hugh Lofting.  Stephen Gaghan (Gold) will direct the film from his own script.

CHRIS EVANS (Gifted) will star in the true-life spy drama Red Sea Diving Resort, the story of Israel’s effort to rescue Ethiopian Jews who were trapped in Sudan in the late 1970s and early 1980s.

NEAL PURVIS AND ROBERT WADE, the screenwriters of several of the recent James Bond films, are in discussions to pen the script for the next 007 film.

STEPHEN DALDRY (Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close) will direct a film about swimmer Yuara Mardini, the teenager who fled Syria to compete in the 2016 Olympics.

LIONSGATE has acquired the distribution rights to the comedy Flarsky, starring Charlize Theron and Seth Rogen about a journalist who pursues his childhood babysitter.

Four years later, Mack receives a note in his mailbox asking him to return to the shack. The note is signed from "Papa" and Mack suspects it could be from God, whom his wife Nan (Radha Mitchell) always refers to as "Papa." Against his better judgment, he accepts the invitation and finds something there that will change his life forever.
  Canadian Connection: Based on the bestselling novel by Canadian author William Paul Young. The movie was filmed in British Columbia and several cast members are Canadian.
