This weekend is our Reel Art Film Series. The feature is "Moonlight". Academy Award Winners of Best Picture, Best Adapted Screenplay and Best Supporting Actor,  Mahershala Ali. March 25 & 26 at 4:00 pm.


Reel Newz Briefs:

KATE MCKINNON (Rough Night) and Mila Kunis (Bad Moms) will star in the action-comedy The Spy Who Dumped Me, about two best friends who undertake a spy mission after one’s ex is not able to complete the mission.

TOM HARDY (Dunkirk) will star as a decorated Navy SEAL in the upcoming film War Party. 

JEFF WADLOW (Kick-Ass 2) will direct the thriller Truth or Dare with Lucy Hale attached to star in the film.

SONY has announced an October 5, 2018, release date for the Spider-Man spinoff film Venom.

THE WEINSTEIN COMPANY has announced a November 24, 2017, release date for the biblical film Mary Magdalene, starring Rooney Mara and Joaquin Phoenix.  The studio also announced a December 22, 2017, release date for The Current War starring Benedict Cumberbatch as Thomas Edison and Michael Shannon as George Westinghouse.

ANNETTE BENING (20th Century Women ) will star with Oscar Isaac and Olivia Wilde in the romantic drama Life Itself. with Dan Fogelman (Crazy, Stupid, Love), directing from his own script.

BENEDICT CUMBERBATCH (Doctor Strange) is attached to star in How to Stop Time, the film adaptation of Matt Haig’s upcoming novel about a man who has a rare condition that has allowed him to live for centuries.

RIDLEY SCOTT (Alien: Covenant) will direct the kidnapping drama All the Money in the World.  The film traces the 1973 Mafia kidnapping of John Paul Getty III, and his mother Gail Harris who fought to free her son when his grandfather, John Paul Getty Sr. refused to pay the requested ransom.

J.D. DILLARD (Sleight) is in negotiations to direct Fox’s planned remake of the 1958 horror classic The Fly.

FOX is developing a film version of Dion Leonard’s upcoming memoir, "Finding Gobi," about a stray dog that he met while competing in an ultra marathon in China.

SONY has announced an October 5, 2018 release date for The Girl in the Spider’s Web, the film adaptation of the fourth book of Stieg Larsson’s Millennium series.  The film is a sequel to The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo and will be directed by Fede Alvarez (Don’t Breathe).

As a teenager, Chiron (Ashton Sanders) continues to be bullied at school. He questions his sexuality as he spends time with Kevin (Jharrel Jerome). Ten years later, Chiron, now referred to as Black (Trevante Rhodes), is a changed man on the outside. He looks tough but is still the same emotional kid. Old feelings come back when he reunites with Kevin (Andre Holland).
